ALBION manager Graham Potter was happy with the point his side earned against Crystal Palace.

The Seagulls were dominated for much of the game against their fiercest rivals but managed to scrape a draw thanks to a last-minute goal from Neal Maupay.

Potter's team went behind late in the first half due to a Wilfred Zaha penalty, which was conceded by a clumsy Leandro Trossard challenge on Conor Gallagher.

For much of the second half, Albion huffed and puffed to try and find an equaliser but failed to create many meaningful chances until Maupay struck in the 96th minute.

However, Potter is more focused on the result than how his team played.

He said: “It is a difficult place to come and to play. We are happy with the point.

“Performance wise, we can do better, and we were far from perfect, but we deserved something from the game.

“Once it is over, no one cares how you played once it is over. It is all about results.

“We know we can improve, which is exciting.”

Albion missed the chance to go top of the Premier League, but that has not worried the manager.

Potter said: “It is not something we think too much about, what the table says after six games.

“I think it is more important that we have played six games and have thirteen points, that is more than two points per game.

“It gives us a good foundation. We know we can do better and improve but at the same time, we have to credit the players, they keep going, and their resilience is really good.”

Last season Palace scored a last-minute winner at the Amex to beat Albion despite being second best for the majority of the game.

For Potter, he was happy to be on the other side of a last-minute goal.

He said: “It is a wonderful feeling for us now to celebrate in front of our fans, especially when it is 1-0 before you score.

“The players kept going and pushing in an even game, and we are happy with the point.”
