Six top Leeds chippies have made the definitive guide to great fish and chips, written by expert friers.

To be included in The Guide to Quality Fish and Chips a chip shop must meet strict hygiene standards and equally important, produce high-quality fish and chips.

Fisheries included in the guide, produced by the National Federation of Fish Friers (NNFF) and Sarson's Vinegar, will receive an NFFF and Sarson's quality accreditation. No dried out fish and lifeless, grey chips here.

Accreditation also recognises a commitment to promoting sustainable fish.

The NFFF says: “To celebrate our great independent fish and chip shops the National Federation of Fish Friers and Sarson’s Vinegar have teamed up to produce this guide which lists quality accredited fish and chip shops throughout the UK.

“Through the NFFF Quality Accreditation scheme, you can be assured of eating top-quality fish and chips from a top-quality fish and chip shop.”
